The Oslo Breakthrough

The initial success of the Oslo accords, a concept with little substance, was followed by chaotic implementation, which remains incomplete to this day.

The Oslo agreement between the State of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) is a breakthrough in which we can examine the process elements of vision, concept, strategy, planning and execution. It was an unlikely and tumultuous historical breakthrough that led to successes which persist to this day, but also remained incomplete. We piece together a Rashomon of perspectives that emerge from memoirs, histories, and new interviews we conducted with key players, to show which visions made the concept of the Oslo Declaration of Principles possible, what went right, and what went wrong.
