Postscript on the Future of Energy

An interview on the future of energy with Jeroen van der Veer, former CEO of Royal Dutch Shell.

We asked Jeroen van der Veer about his views on renewable energy sources, the possibilities of reducing the consumption of fossil fuels, and energy policies and strategies for the future. He argues that what is needed, above all, is a shared international vision and realistic domestic priorities to bring governments and industry together to manage innovation processes and make renewable energy commercially viable. Van der Veer considers the lack of an international vision for energy today and the leadership required to develop genuine innovation for energy sources and systems.
